"Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee."
Psalm 119:11

A Statement From Our Pastor

Dear Members and Friends,

The work of the Lord is carried on in and through local churches. Being a member of a local church is a choice that says, "I want to be an active part of the family of God, I want to be used in His service." The fellowship of the local church is particularly blessed by our Lord. The Scofield Reference Bible has a note above Matthew 18:20 that says, "The simplest form of a local church." What a wonderful truth that is! The Lord Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst." The members of the local church are called to carry out "The Great Commission." We find this commission given at least four times in the New Testament. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus said, "... All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you ..." We are to teach the gospel, baptize those who have believed the gospel and then train them to be like Jesus.

The membership of a living church is always in a state of change. While some people move away and some pass away, others just go away. While this is happening, still others are coming into the fellowship of the church. It is my prayer that many will be saved and will grow to be like our Lord.

This new decade, century and millennium present new opportunities for this church to render service to our Lord.

Yours in Christ's Service,
Michael L. McClure
