A Heart Filled with Thanksgiving

A Heart Filled with Thanksgiving

Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.” — II Corinthians 9:11

We’ve had a challenging year and should be thankful that God allowed us to experience life with all of its ups and downs. Even as Christians, our daily lives are filled with unknowns, uncertainty, trials, and temptations. We can rely on our faith in God. It is the only assurance God has given us that will lead us through each day with total confidence.

By fixing our sights on that which is godly, by pinning our hopes and dreams to that which is everlasting, by surrendering self to the holiness that is God, only then can we delight in the joy of our Lord and find peace in a heart filled with thanksgiving.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” — Colossians 3:17

It is easy to thank God for the many wonderful blessings He has given that bring joy and happiness to our loved ones and us, and we should be very grateful for that. But, even more so, we should be thankful that He helped us through the tough times. It is through those difficult periods in our life that we so appreciate God’s presence, comfort, and guidance.

None other can touch us like God can when we experience desperate moments or great upheaval in our lives. In troubled times, we are to rest on Him, place all our cares on Him. It is what our Great Father expects us to do so that He can fulfill His promise to take care of us.

If God has led you through troubled waters or through the valley of the shadow of death, your experience with God is more valuable than gold. Share God’s blessing in your life with someone to uplift them as He has uplifted you. Not only will you be doing the Lord’s work, but you will also know how a heart filled with thanksgiving can be a blessing to other people.

Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.” — I Chronicles 16:8
