A New Birth of Freedom
A New Birth of Freedom is a sermon given on Memorial Day. We are blessed with freedom by those who gave themselves in service to the country. Learn about God’s will to have Jesus come and give himself for us so that we may be saved.
We recall the famous words of Nathan Hale, age 19, on September 22, 1776:
I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.
A New Birth of Freedom sermon starts with verses from Galatians 1:1-4:
1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
also verses from Romans 6:17-18, 23:
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I Timothy 2:1-6:
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
