Missionary Stephen Schaffer

Missionary Stephen Schaffer's work in Asia.

Missionary Stephen Schaffer brings a message teaching us that when you have the Gospel and help others, you will be blessed. God is true and can always be counted on to keep His promise. We should do the same. Find out about God by studying God who is good. God is true and faithful.

God has made hundreds of promises. He promised that a Savior would come and He has fulfilled that promise through the birth of Jesus. God promises to be with us always. We know that if God is with you he will take care of you. Jesus promised He would come at the moment of His disciple’s death and He did for each of them. The same is true for us, Jesus promises to come to us at the moment of our death.

Salvation comes to us in two parts, outside of us and inside of us. The outside part is when God establishes us with Christ, our salvation was accomplished through Jesus when He died on the cross, Jesus did all the work. Only through Jesus are we saved. The inside part of our salvation is in our hearts. We accept Jesus and He is our example to follow. Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit, empowering Him to preach and teach the people, reconciling sinners to God, bringing assurance, praying for us. God anoints us with the Holy Spirit who dwells in our hearts so we can follow Christ’s example. He seals us with the Holy Spirit so that we have eternal security. We can only be saved if we have the Holy Spirit. Every believer has the Holy Spirit.

Missionary Stephen Schaffer sermon starts with verses from II Corinthians 1:15-24:

15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

16 And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea.

17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?

18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
