Camp Program
The School Break Problem
- During the school year, parents are confident that their children are well cared for, well supervised, and involved in educational and recreational activities at their school.
- During school breaks, working parents need a place that offers supervised activities in a clean, safe environment.
Limited Enrollment
To maintain a balanced camper-to-counselor ratio, enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please indicate on the registration form the weeks you desire to attend. Our Summer Day Camp for Children is for ages 5-15.
Dates for Summer Day Camp for Children
Below is the camp schedule and themes for this year’s camp season. We emphasize these themes during the specified weeks in various aspects of the program.
On Fridays, we have a special dress-up time according to that week’s theme from 8:45-9:00 a.m. This is a fun time, and campers will vote on who is the best-dressed. All the participants receive a prize, and the winner receives a grand prize.

What’s Included
- Learn a sport
Our staff will teach a variety of sports to give each camper an introduction to basic rules and skills. Other games will also be a part of the program. - Daily Chapel Time
Our daily chapel program teaches Biblical principles of morality and respect for God, parents, and country. While we expect every child to participate in chapel, there will be no pressure placed on them to join our church or be baptized. The Bible is taught from a literal standpoint. The King James translation of the Bible is used for uniformity (campers are not required to purchase Bibles, but will have the opportunity to earn one if they wish). Pastor Michael L. McClure is responsible for organizing the chapel programs. - Lunch Time
Each child should bring their own lunch, with a cold pack as needed. The camp does not have facilities to heat or prepare food. A Kool-Aid-type drink will be provided at no additional charge. Children should bring healthy snacks for their breaks. We suggest lunches and snacks that do NOT require refrigeration. While water is always available, children may also purchase drinks and snacks from the canteen if they wish. - Naptime
Naptime will be available on an as-needed basis for those in the 5-7-year age group. Children need to bring their own nap mat in the event of nap time. - Variety of Classes
Each year, we offer theme weeks with a variety of classes, including crafts, etiquette, and life-skills training, self-defense training, time for competition, and fun games. We schedule guest speakers and special events aligned with the week’s theme. - Swimming
The West Park Baptist Church Camp is one of the few day camps to have an on-site swimming pool. All campers will have daily swim time, weather permitting. Swimming is supervised by our lifeguards and counselors.

What to Wear and Bring
What to Wear
Sneakers/sports shoes, slacks, jeans, long shorts (which come to mid-thigh).

BOYS: Must wear a shirt except when in the pool area, no short shorts.
EVERYONE: No shirts or clothing that reflect or advertise anti-Christian products, philosophies, or characters.
What to Bring
Towels, proper attire* see above, lunch, a.m. & p.m. snacks, and a GOOD attitude.
What Not to Bring
Video games, radios, personal music or media players, inappropriate literature, cell phones, weapons, etc. The church staff reserves the final determination in the above cases.
