As Christians, we look forward to that blessed hope when one day, we shall be with Jesus. We have this hope because He arose from the grave. The resurrection is central to our Christian faith.
Assurance of Hope
Without the resurrection there is no hope โ how sad our existence would be. But because He lives, we have that assurance of hope of reigning with Him for eternity. And it is this hope that we are to share with others so that they too can be with Jesus.
Peace and Calm
We sing hymns in church about the resurrection of Jesus, and one in particular comes to mind that celebrates the resurrection, Because He Lives. The song was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither during the tumultuous period of the 1960s. It was a time in their lives when fearful circumstances consumed them. But God gave them peace in the midst of chaos.
An Inspirational Song
After the birth of their child, they remembered God helped them and it was the power of Christโs resurrection that gave them hope and joy โ Life conquered Death. And life truly is worth living for those in Christ as we have the assurance that because He lives, we shall also live. And so they wrote the song Because He Lives.
